COASTAL EXTENSION NETWORK

S3AM is supported by a nationwide extension network based in coastal areas where bottom cultivation of oysters is the principal production method, and relies on their decades of experience in developing, teaching, and evaluating aquaculture programs for industry development.

S3AM EXTENSION NETWORK

Extension faculty in the targeted regions meet quarterly to coordinate the development of the National Advisory Board, gain updates in S3AM technology development, and identify regional sites for field trials and industry educational programs. The extension network provides continued support and feedback, documenting critical problems that would benefit from S3AM in their own regions.
